According to word in from Hollywood's Variety magazine, former Ubisoft chief Jay Cohen is off to work for Jerry Bruckheimer's new games studio, a joint effort formed with MTV Games.

Cohen is previously the vice president of publishing for Ubisoft, and he'll now be employed by the game studio formed by MTV Games and Jerry Bruckheimer Films. His mandate is to get things moving at the firm.

The studio is supposed to help take MTV beyond Rock Band, and further Bruckheimer's role in interactive entertainment; although despite being formed in 2007, we've heard very little from 'JV' since.

The studio was supposed to be working on games based on the producer's films and TV shows, which include the likes of Pirates of Caribbean and CSI. We'll keep you posted on Cohen's progress.
