Wii sales still depressed

The latest Japanese hardware sales figures are in from the land of the rising sun and it's one of the closest charts in a while; the DSi and the PSP vying for the top spot, selling within a couple of hundred units of each other.

The PSP was the top console last week, selling nearly 41,000 units, the DSi just a few hundred sales short of this marker.

Third was the PS3 with nearly 17,000 units sold, compared to the Wii's paltry 13,000 - likely to spark further chatter that the Wii boom could have peaked.

The Xbox 360 wasn't so far off Nintendo's box with over 10,000 sales. The DS Lite managed nearly 7,000 sales, the PS2 less than 5,000.
