Atari's new Ghostbusters game will be published on the PS3, PS2 and PSP by Sony - news in this afternoon informs us. The move will see the console releases arriving this June, with the PSP following in the autumn.

The game was previously scheduled for release on June 19th on all formats, but it now looks as if non-Sony versions of the game may be pushed back, making the game semi-exclusive on PlayStation formats.

The Xbox 360 and Wii versions appear to be the games most impacted by this move - uncertainty now surrounding when these titles will arrive, with Sony likely to enjoy a period of exclusivity as part of the deal.

"We're committed to bringing the PlayStation family the biggest and best gaming experiences first," beamed Mark Hardy, European Product Marketing Director at SCEE, "and it doesn't get any bigger and better than this blockbuster title. This summer, PlayStation owners will be the first to grab their proton packs and fight the spirit world. We'd like to wish them the best of luck in their ghostbusting endeavours and, of course, to remind them not to cross the streams!"

Atari could publish the game on other formats at a later date.

haha whatever, so the developer loses out. There was a chance I may have bought it when it came out with all the hypr for my 360, but it seems that when they finally do release the game on 360 I and many others wont care since the hype will be over. They are loseing money and having a game like this is not going to make many people buy a ps3.
