No PS3 price cut at E3

THQ boss doesn't expect Sony slice at E3

Speaking as THQ's latest financial results were confirmed, CEO Brian Farrell described the PlayStation 3 as a "challenging" system - and that he doesn't expect a price cut at this year's E3.

"We're not expecting a price cut at E3, but we do expect one later in the year. That's just our guess... not based on any knowledge from Sony."

The PS3 has been the subject of endless pricing conjecture, but with Sony still making a loss on hardware sales it is unlikely a cut will be introduced as soon as some would hope - despite the console being far pricier than rival systems from Nintendo and Microsoft.

More from THQ and Farrell soon.

Is this even news? No disrespect. Pretty much everyone who's been keeping themselves up-to-date knows Sony said no. Don't get me wrong, they might do a u-turn but let's just wait until they do (whether it's now or the fourth quarter (Christmas time, etc).

Get over it already. The PS3 price point isn't changing before the holiday season this year. Analysts can go f themselves if they think otherwise.
