The PSP leads the latest Japanese hardware chart for the week ending May 3rd, but it's a close run thing, Sony's device coming in just a few hundred sales ahead of the DSi, with over 49,500 units.

DSi sales for the week still topped 49,000, with the PS3 some way off the pace on 23,000.

Then there's the Wii console with over 21,000, followed by the DS Lite with over 7,000.

The Xbox 360 also managed to top 7,000 - just a whisker off the DS Lite, while the PS2 was last with over 5,000 sales.
