Japanese hardware sales drop

DSi still leads charge

MAY

2009

The latest Japanese hardware sales, for the week ending May 17th, have been published today, and it doesn't look it was a particularly bumper week for any of the big platform holders.

The DSi was (as with the previous week) Japan's top-selling system, but it did this with sales of just over 34,000, the PSP second with over 28,000.

Third was the Wii with a paltry (by Nintendo's high standards) 15,000, followed by the PS3 with over 11,000.

Next up is the DS Lite with nearly 5,000, followed by the PS2 with just over 4,000. The Xbox 360 was last with a miserable 3,000. More soon.
