Alan Wake reemerges at E3
Survival horror, done right?
Highly cinematic, plot-focussed in-game footage from Xbox 360 exclusive Alan Wake has been unveiled at this year's E3 show; Remedy's Sam Lake taking to the stage to re-introduce the game last aired over two years ago.
A tense, third-person thriller looks to be on the cards, complete with elements of open-world freedom, players stepping into the shoes of a writer who's wife goes missing while they holiday in a remote rural town.
Super-natural elements abound in a game that looks to be rich with atmosphere - an orchestral score combining with lighting and a gradually evolving plot.
Alan Wake will be released in Spring 2010, Remedy reveal today. Possible contender for game of the show this writer would argue.

It's nice to see Alan Wake finally get a release date. I've been anticipating this game since it was first announced in 2005! Next year is going to be a good year for gaming.
