Jonquel Brooks, a former Fresno student, has been given a life sentence for the 2007 shooting of four men - one of whom died.

Brooks was accused of stealing a PlayStation 2 console by the four men in question - and denying the theft an argument erupted in which Brooks fired shots - fatally hitting one of the men in question.

Two of the other men were injured, and while the PS2 in question was never recovered Brooks ended up turning himself into the authorities.

Brooks had history for dealing drugs, and had flashed his gun previously, and his claim of self-defense didn't hold up - according to the court. The 21 year-old expressed regret at the trial, and will now serve up to 59 years in prison.

The mother of deceased Brant Daniels, actually forgave Brooks during the trial, describing him as "a good kid who made a wrong choice". More as we get it.
