Sony UK have confirmed the British pricing for their upcoming PSP Go handheld revealing that it will hit the shelves on October 1st priced at 224.99GBP.
The heavily rumoured and anticipated UMD-less device was announced at E3 this year featuring 16Gb of internal memory and a 3.8" screen.
The emphasis is on downloadable games like the iPhone's much vaunted AppStore. Of course, the big loser here is the retail outlets that Sony will be relying on to push the console. This is potentially one of the reasons why the handheld is priced higher than the original model when first launched.

Ouch! Given the usual exchange rates when it comes to businesses, that's over 600AUD. :(
Here's a question.. There's no UMD drive on this at all, right? And the emphasis is on digital distribution? How are they going to go in places like Aus? We pay for data usage here, and the mobile network isn't exactly that great. And I've read the PSP Go doesn't have a mobile on it, just wifi? That was a while ago though.
*sighs* No L4D2, Marc Ecko, PSP Go.. I'm so moving.
