Bruckheimer's Game Boys glimpsed
New film featuring gamers mooted
Top Gun producer Jerry Bruckheimer is currently planning a new film about gaming, Game Boys. The film will star two gamers in their thirties who are recruited by the department of homeland security in order to battle monsters from a videogame who have somehow come to life. Obviously, we're hoping the premise will have been somewhat further 'fleshed-out' in advance of the film's release.
As well as Bruckheimer's heavyweight involvement, Evan Katz is also said to be playing a part, having previously wrote and produced for the award-winning 24. Look Who's Talking Now director Tom Ropelewski is also involved. Currently, the new flick sounds like a mix of Wargames, Weird Science and Tron, but who can say what the film's makers ultimately have in mind. No word on a release date, either, but we'll keep you posted on Game Boys as we learn more.
