Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of protection to your account by requiring a time-based code from an authenticator app in addition to your password. This guide walks through enabling 2FA from your account portal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 1: Open Security Settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From your my.jolt.co.uk account dashboard, open the account menu in the top right corner and select Security Settings<\/strong>. This page shows the current status of two-factor authentication for your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 2: Choose Your Authentication Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Click the button to enable two-factor authentication, then choose an authentication method. Time-based tokens are the most common option and work with authenticator apps such as Google Authenticator or Duo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 3: Connect Your Authenticator App<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After selecting Time Based Tokens and continuing, you’ll be shown a QR code and a manual setup key. Open your chosen authenticator app, add a new account, and scan the QR code (or enter the manual key if scanning isn’t possible).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Step 4: Verify and Finish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Once the account is added in your authenticator app, it will generate a new 6-digit code every 30 seconds. Enter the current code into the verification field and submit it to complete setup. Your account will then show two-factor authentication as enabled, and you’ll be asked for a code at each future login.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Store your manual setup key or backup codes somewhere safe in case you lose access to your authenticator app<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Prefer an authenticator app or hardware key over SMS codes where possible, as they are more resistant to interception<\/li>\n\n\n\n
