Rolling a Site Back using JCP‘s Backups

Deleted something you shouldn’t have? Made a change that broke your site? JCP‘s backups make recovery effortless. One click and you’re back online.

Step 1: Open Your Site

Log into www.jolt.co.uk/kb and open your Jolt Control Panel.

Click the Settings icon beside the site you need to restore.

Step 2: Go to Backups

Select the “Backups” tab at the top.

Scroll down to see your “Backups” section. You’ll see a timeline of backups on the left with dates and times showing when they were taken.

Step 3: Choose Your Restore Point

Select the backup you want to restore to. Usually, you’ll pick the most recent one taken before things went wrong.

Click the “Restore” button.

Step 4: Choose What to Restore

A dropdown menu will ask you what you want to recover:

  • Just files — Restore only your website files (useful if you know the database is fine)
  • Just the database — Restore only your database (useful if file changes broke things)
  • Everything — Restore both files and database (safest choice if you’re unsure)

Pick the option that matches what went wrong, then confirm.

Wait for the Restore

JCP gets to work restoring your backup. Depending on your site’s size, this usually takes a few minutes. You can keep using JCP while it works—no need to wait around.

You’ll see a pop-up notification in the lower right corner when the restore is complete.

Check Your Site

Visit your website. It should be back to the state it was in when that backup was taken. Small sites often restore in just a minute or two.

That’s it. No complicated recovery processes, no data loss headaches. JCP backs up automatically and lets you restore in seconds. Peace of mind included.
