Installing WordPress on Scout
Overview
With Scout, you can install WordPress quickly and easily, without needing to manually configure files or databases. This guide walks you through the process of setting up a new WordPress site using the Scout Control Panel.
Instructions
- Log in to Scout
- Sign in to your account
- Open the Scout Control Panel.
- Add a New Site
- Click the Add a site button in the top-right corner.
- If you don’t have a domain name yet, select the Temporary Domain option.

- Choose Your Application
- From the dropdown menu, select WordPress as the web application.
- Confirm Installation
- Scout will ask if you’d like it to install a fresh copy of WordPress.
- Select Yes please to proceed.
- Select a Server
- Choose the server where you want the new WordPress site to be hosted.
- Set a Nickname
- Enter a short, descriptive nickname for the site (e.g., “Client Blog” or “Project X”).
- Create Site & Install WordPress
- Click the Create site & install WordPress button.
- Scout will automatically set up a hosting area and install WordPress.

- Review Credentials
- Once installation is complete, Scout will display important details such as:
- WordPress admin username and password
- Database credentials
- SFTP and SSH access information
- Record these details securely.
