Creating a new cPanel account

As a Reseller, you will be given access to a WHM account which provides various tools for managing the hosting of your clients such as creating new cPanel accounts via WHM > Create a New Account, as well as listing any created accounts via WHM > List Accounts so you can find/access specific accounts all from within WHM.

The guide will cover the steps to creating a new cPanel account in WHM.

⚠️ Recommended: Before proceeding further with this guide, we recommend first following our guide for creating Packages in WHM as they’re an important part of setting up a new cPanel account.

1. Login to your WHM account. The login credentials for this would have been sent to you in an email when you first set up an account with us. If you do not have these credentials, please contact support for further assistance.

2. When you first login you should see an option labelled Create a New Account. Alternatively, use the left hand menu to search for and navigate to Create a New Account.

3. Enter your client’s domain into the Domain field e.g. example.com (this can also be a subdomain such as my-blog.example.com), as well as a Username, Password and Email Address (optional).

👉 Tip: WHM will typically create the Username for you once you’ve entered the domain. Also, if you decided to add an Email Address, that will then be what’s used to receive account notifications such as Disk Space notifications.

⚠️ Important: Please make sure to set a strong password, the stronger the password the less likely it can be brute forced/bypassed. The Password Generator button can be helpful for this as it will create a random password for you.

💡 Note: Once the password has been set it’s not stored anywhere visible/accessible, so we also recommend making the password memorable and/or storing the password in a secure location (e.g. a password manager).

7. Select a Package from Choose a Package drop down list.

 8. Leave all other values as default and click Create.

That’s it, you’ve now created a new cPanel account for your clients to host their website(s) and/or emails.
