Issuing a free SSL certificate in cPanel
What is an SSL Certificate?
An SSL certificate encrypts data between your website and visitors, enabling HTTPS (a security icon in browsers). It’s essential for security, SEO, and building trust with visitors.
How to Install a Free SSL Certificate
Step 1: Access SSL/TLS Status
- Log in to cPanel
- Scroll to the “Security” section
- Click “SSL/TLS Status”

Step 2: Select Your Domain
You’ll see a list of domains with their SSL status:
- ✓ SSL Active (green padlock) = Certificate installed and working.
- ✗ Error (red) = Problem detected, No certificate.
Step 3: Install SSL Certificate
- Check the box next to the domain(s) you want to secure
- Click “Run AutoSSL” at the top of the page
- Wait 1-2 minutes while cPanel generates and installs the certificate
✅ Done! Your site now has HTTPS enabled
