Creating an email forwarder in cPanel

Email forwarders allow you to redirect incoming messages from one email address to another automatically. This is especially useful if you manage multiple inboxes or want to consolidate communications.

This guide walks you through setting up email forwarders using cPanel interface.

What You’ll Need

  • Access to your cPanel account.
  • The email address you want to forward.
  • The destination email address.

Steps to creating the email forwarder

1. Log in to cPanel

  • Use the login details provided by us when you first signed up.
  • If you’ve lost your credentials, contact support for help.

2. Locate the “Forwarders” Section

  • Once logged in, scroll down to the Email session to locate Forwarders icon and click on it
  • Alternatively, use the search bar at the top of the cPanel dashboard.
  • Type “Forwarders” and click on the Forwarders icon.

3. Add an Email Forwarder

  • Click Add Forwarder.
  • Fill out the form:
    • Address to Forward: Enter the first part of the email (e.g., info if your email is info@yourdomain.com).
    • Domain: Select the domain from the dropdown.
    • Destination: Enter the full email address where you want messages forwarded (e.g., yourname@gmail.com).
  • Click Add Forwarder to save.

4. (Optional) Add a Domain Forwarder

  • Click Add Domain Forwarder if you want to forward all emails from one domain to another.
  • Select the source domain and enter the destination domain.
  • Click Add Domain Forwarder to activate.

Once added, emails sent to the specified address or domain will be automatically redirected to the destination you’ve set.

Tips to Avoid Errors

  • Double-check spelling of email addresses.
  • Make sure the destination inbox isn’t full or blocked.
  • Avoid creating loops (e.g., forwarding back to the original address).
  • If issues persist, reach out to support.
