Installing WordPress using Softaculous
Softaculous is a popular auto‑installer integrated into hosting control panels such as cPanel, DirectAdmin, and Plesk. It allows you to install WordPress quickly without needing to manually upload files or configure databases. This guide explains the step‑by‑step process to install WordPress using Softaculous in cPanel.
How to Install WordPress:
1. Log in to Your Hosting Control Panel
- Access your hosting account cPanel
- Enter your username and password provided by Jolt.
2. Locate Softaculous
- In cPanel, scroll down to the Software section.
- Click the WordPress Manager by Softaculous icon.

- Alternatively, you can use the WordPress App Script from the Softaculous App Installer Section.
- Once page opens, Click on Install button to open the installation page.

3. Fill in the Installation Form
You’ll need to configure a few details:
- Choose Installation URL: Select the domain and directory (leave directory blank to install in root).
- Choose the version you want to install (Usually the Latest)
- Site Settings: Enter your site name and description.
- Admin Account: Set up a username, password, and admin email.
- Language & Plugins: Choose your preferred language and optional plugins/themes.
Advanced Options (Optional)
- Configure database name and table prefix.
- Enable auto‑upgrade for WordPress, plugins, and themes.
- Set backup preferences.
4. Install WordPress
- Click Install.
- Wait for the progress bar to complete.
- Once finished, you’ll see a confirmation screen with links to your new WordPress site and admin details
